Created during the Second World War and finally published in the 1960s, the Thoth Tarot is one of the most influential and symbolically rich decks in the history of tarot. Created by magician and artist Aleister Crowley and artist Lady Frieda Harris, it was Crowley’s final major magical project.

In this four-week online course, occutist Julian Vayne you on a deep dive into the Thoth deck, exploring its extraordinary visual language and the layers of Qabalah, astrology, alchemy, mythology and magical symbolism woven into the cards.

Alongside exploring the meanings and symbolism of the individual cards, we’ll consider the Thoth Tarot as a magical as well as divinatory tool. Each session includes plenty of opportunity for practical exploration, with exercises designed to help you become familiar with the deck, guided meditations and pathworkings, techniques for exploring the cards through the imagination, and practical approaches to using the Tarot in magical work.

Whether you’re new to the Thoth Tarot or have worked with it for years, this course offers an opportunity to move beyond simply reading the cards and bring the deck alive as a tool for magical practice, contemplation and transformation.

Julian Vayne is a British occultist, author and teacher with over 40 years’ experience of Western magic and the Thoth Tarot. His deep familiarity with Crowley’s magick informs an experiential approach to the deck, exploring its Qabalistic, magical and symbolic dimensions through meditation, ritual and practical work.
