Handmade Voodoo Libation Bottle for Loa Papa Legba from Considered Trifles

$75.00

This handmade voodoo libation bottle is dedicated to the loa (or spirit) Papa Legba. He is the lwa (or lwa) who stands at the crossroads between the temporal and spiritual worlds and decides who may speak with the dead. One of his Catholic counterparts is Saint Peter, believed to stand at the gates of heaven and decide who may enter. Papa’s favorite tipple is dark rum and he also likes candy.

Libation bottles are used as devotional altar pieces in Haiti to honor a particular lwa, or spirit of human or divine origin, that were created by Bondye (God) to assist the living in their daily affairs and allow access to the divine.

11” X 4” X 4” (diameter); DD
