The body is central to the purpose of the fictional witch, more specifically the female witch. Her body is linked to her social power, and often she seeks to maintain it at all costs. In this lecture, based on the Heather Greene’s new book Lights, Camera, Witchcraft: A Critical History of Witches in American Film and Television, we'll examine the motivation of the female witch, predominantly in American horror films, as it relates to her body and her often desperate search for immortality and youthful radiance.
