These beautifully crafted Santa Muerte Statues feature wings with feather details. The posture of Saint (or Holy) death expresses a meditative serenity as she gazes at the onlooker. She holds an open book her finger resting on a passage on one page, a rose rests on the other. Around her feet are roses, and a rope ties the waist of her long hooded robe trimmed in gold.
She comes with a message, or perhaps she’ll deliver one for the petitioner. her robe color denotes the types of messages she sends and receives: white for cleansing and spiritual purity; black for protection and vanquishing of ones enemies; red for love and passion.
Santa Muerte, saint or holy death, is a folk saint of the Mexican diaspora and for those disenfranchised by society and the church.
