"Captain, Blacksmith, Realtor" Gravestone Casting by Gravestone Girls

$49.50

Captain Joseph Willson was all these things in the 58 years of his life. His last incarnation is symbolized by this winged death’s head on his gravestone, the last vestige of his mortality. He died January 14, 1704/5 and resides eternally in Bell Rock Cemetery, Malden, Massachusetts.

Color shown:  Black Plague

Piece measures: 5 inches high by 4.5 inches long

Please note: each piece is made to order and has a two-week production time.

Gravestone Girls create art pieces from the faces of original New England gravestones and have been working with the history and symbolism of cemeteries for more than 30 years. Lifelong Massachusetts residents, they have spent many hours in graveyards all over the world. Gravestone Girls' mission is to "Keep Our Dead Alive" through educational lectures, tours, classes and creation of tombstone replicas. Annually, they work with many institutions nationwide, raising cemetery awareness and teaching citizens what history lies buried under their feet.
