This relief sculpture by artist Heather O'Shaughnessy features a delicate hand with a lace cuff engulfed in flames. Moths flitter around the flames of the burning hand.

The piece was inspired by the words of existential psychiatrist and Auschwitz concentration camp survivor Viktor Frankl, who said " What is to give light must endure burning." Sometimes our greatest strengths were forged in the fire of suffering.

These castings were taken from an original wax sculpture and cast in snow white gypsum. The leafy border glimmers with gold leaf paint. A wire hanger is embedded in the back of the sculpture for easy hanging.

12 inch by 9 inch white casting with a beautiful gold leaf border.
