A small winged skull represents the soul of Mr. Jacob Caldwell flying to Heaven. A prosperous man in life, he fathered 17 children. Eight surviving offspring erected his gravestone when he died September 9, 1787, aged 68, in Second Parish Cemetery, Burlington, Massachusetts.
