Step into the threshold of your creative being and meet the Muse—a vital archetype who stirs your imagination, calls you to the edges of possibility, and inspires you to embody the extraordinary in the everyday. She is not only the whisper that guides the artist’s hand or the visionary’s dream but also the voice within you, waiting to be heard, felt, and lived.

The Muse has traveled through time and across cultures as a bearer of inspiration, a guide to beauty and truth. She is both a gift and a challenge, offering visions that light the way while asking us to confront the shadows of dependency, projection, and the fear of our own authentic voice. In this course, participants will explore the mythological and archetypal dimensions of the Muse, learning how to recognize her presence both as an external force and as an integral part of their own psyche. This journey is an invitation to awaken not only your capacity to create but also your ability to live fully as a vessel of inspiration.

Through storytelling, reflective practices, and creative exploration, participants will uncover the essence of the Muse in their lives. We will engage active imagination, journaling, and artistic practices designed to bring the Muse to life within ourselves. This class will be not only a study of the Muse, but also a reclamation of her energy—a commitment to living as both the inspired and the inspirer. Together, we will navigate her light and shadow, embracing the fullness of her gifts and integrating her into our own archetypal landscape.

By the end of the course, students will walk away with a deeper understanding of the Muse and the courage and clarity to live as Muses themselves—fully embodied, authentic, and alive to the creative pulse of their own lives. This is a call to those seeking beauty, truth, and the profound joy of expressing what only they can bring into the world.

Selena Madden, PhD is a dedicated mythologist, archetypal educator, and somatic muse. Her profound passion lies in the exploration and integration of diverse archetypes and mythic narratives, unraveling the mysteries of the human psyche. Her PhD in Mythological Studies with an emphasis in Depth Psychology, earned from Pacifica Graduate Institute, provides her with a rich and nuanced understanding of the archetypal landscape, empowering her to bring forth profound insights and guide others on their own mythic odysseys.
