Visual art has long held a complex relationship with spirituality—at times revered as an act of devotion, and at others condemned as sacrilege. While artistic representations of religious scenes are now widely accepted, within many Eastern traditions, visual art continues to be a form of literally channeling the energy of the divine into a space, image, or object.

This series will explore yogic perspectives on visual creation as a form of invoking divine consciousness. We will study the use ofYantras(sacred diagrams that hold the energy of specific Devis),Sacred Geometry(patterns and mandalas expressing elemental forces), and symbolic forms drawn from animals, ritual tools, and nature as they relate to the Chakras and Devis.

Each week will combine lectures, guided meditation, and creative practice. Participants will be invited to respond personally, developing visual expressions inspired by that week’s focus. The series offers an opportunity to approach art-making as spiritual practice—to awaken consciousness through creativity. As a final project, students will create symbols, sigils, geometric forms, or artworks intentionally imbued with energy.
