Mythology has long offered a quiet light in troubled times, providing metaphors that help us navigate uncertainty and find meaning in the midst of upheaval.
In this four-week course, we’ll explore how myth can help us respond to the challenges of the present, focusing on the transformative journeys of Inanna, Kali, and Hecate. Through Inanna’s descent and return, Kali’s fierce renewal, and Hecate’s guidance at the crossroads, we’ll consider how these goddesses have served as enduring guides through darkness and change.
Led by Drs. Alicia K. Anderson and Selena Madden, both scholars of Mythological Studies and Depth Psychology, the course weaves academic insight with practical, embodied exercises and ritual. Participants will engage with these archetypes as living symbols, gaining fresh tools and perspectives for meeting both personal and collective challenges.
Alicia King Anderson, Ph.D. is an instructor, author, and coach dedicated to helping people discover the healing power of storytelling and creativity. She uses tools to tap into the power of the unconscious, and the power of myth and fairy tale to help students tell deep emotional truths.
Selena Madden, PhDis a dedicated mythologist, archetypal educator, and somatic muse. Her profound passion lies in the exploration and integration of diverse archetypes and mythic narratives, unraveling the mysteries of the human psyche.
