$140 General Admission

This four-part series will explore the astrological virtues of food and drink within traditional humoral theories of dynamic well-being, delving into the practical use of herbs, fruit, and vegetables in planetary spiritwork and spellcraft. Under the guidance of contemporary cunning-man and historian of magic Dr. Alexander Cummins, we’ll investigate how diet has long been regarded as a vital means for regulating and balancing our humoral constitutions, drawing from sources in pre-modern occult philosophy and folkloric wisdom.
Throughout the course, we will analyze the ways food and drink have played roles in grimoire and folk-magical practices—charms, divinations, talismans, and rituals. Together, we’ll examine the mythologies and symbolic meanings attached to edible herbs, nuts, spices, vegetables, and especially fruits, considering what it means to make offerings from these materials to spirits and even at our own tables.
We’ll also assess how such foods are used in rites of elemental and planetary cleansing and empowerment—how dining with the stars and spirits can help us restore harmony, express gratitude, petition for change, and enrich both ourselves and our world.
Each session concludes with a cocktail menu focused on “planetary mixology,” where we’ll explore which potent drink blends best accompany, empower, and further your magical petitions and conjurations for the Seven Planets.
Dr Alexander Cummins is a contemporary cunning-man and historian of magic. His magical specialities include divination, grimoiric sorcery, and traditional British folk magic. He is a frequent speaker on the international circuit, and co-hosts the podcast Radio Free Golgotha. His work, classes, and services can be found at www.alexandercummins.com
