Dreams reflect many facets of the psyche—our deepest desires, inner conflicts, memories from the past, and hopes for the future. But they are more than just static collections of personal data: dreams are dynamic spaces for exploration, problem-solving, and imagination. By weaving connections between waking and dreaming life, the dreamer can collaborate with the unique resources of dream consciousness, unlocking the full potential of this altered state.
In this four week experiential series, participants will be invited to develop a deeper understanding of their dream experience. Using trance techniques, creative expression, and discussion, the dream space will be brought to life within the group. Each session will explore unique components to dream phenomena, including the dreaming self, landscapes within dreams, daydreaming and hypnogogic states, and personal symbols and archetypes. Then a creative prompt will be offered to synthesize and record the experience. Participants will also have access to a weekly sleep practice recording for added support.
Mikella Millen, LCAT, ATR-BC is a licensed Art Psychotherapist, Reiki Master Teacher, and Medium. She has specialized in treating trauma and grief since 2009, and developed a unique approach to psychotherapy that incorporates Reiki into clinical practice. Mikella has been a daily lucid dreamer for over 10 years, and draws upon this experience and training in Gestalt Dreamwork to explore dreams on an dynamic level.
