This one of a kind sterling silver brooch features Saint Frances Cabrini, the patron saint of immigrants. Born in 1850 in the Italian province of Lodi, Cabrini went on to found 67 missionary institutions serving the sick and poor in the US, South America, and Europe, and became the first naturalized US citizen to be canonized by the Roman Catholic Church in 1946. The brooch measures 2 inches by 1 inch, with a pin stem length of 1 inch and .036 inch diameter.

About the artist: Jennifer Jones studied at University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and Polymnia di Moretti Laura in Cortona, Italy. She incorporates ancient techniques of fusing handmade chain, granulation and weaving with found objects, vintage photography and human ephemera like hair, bone and teeth. She lives in NYC and spends time in Rome, Sicily and Oaxaca.
